Jonathan Beiler “As a professional pianist of Cuban descent, I had in mind to produce a CD of Cuban music from the early 1800s to the late 1950s. This first CD was a musical journey featuring 16 Cuban composers over a period of 150 years. The second CD, a collection of poems by exiled Cuban poets, followed 6 months later. I provided the musical background, based on Cuban classical music. Again, I was impressed by the recording balance between the spoken word and the background music. The third CD started as a project in February 2007. I envisioned a collection of international Christmas carols, some traditional and well-known, and others that are new to most people. Recording is a learning process for the performer, and as this experience repeats itself, I consider Traveling Tracks a significant resource to help me realize my dreams.
