Brad Zabelski on location recordingEquipment

I'm not a big fan of equipment lists on websites, basically because I believe that you shouldn't choose to work with someone based on their equipment. We use professional equipment, that's a given, but more importantly our engineers are professionally educated audio engineers. I've met plenty of people who have very expensive gear who are definitely not professional audio engineers. Education and experience is what sets us apart.

Brad Zabelski on location recordingWe've recorded in a lot of places over the years... symphonies in concert halls... choral masterpieces in churches... live jazz in restaurants... solo artists in their own living room!

You'd be surprised how many times we've converted a living room into a recording studio and a kitchen into a control room! Basically, we can record wherever you want us to. Wherever you feel comfortable. For many people, that turns out to be in their own house.

Our Approach

Brad Zabelski on location recordingWe do it your way. Much of our recording is done at live events, our goal is to be invisible. We don't want to get in your way, if we do... tell us! The performing artist has to be comfortable.

If you had to classify our method of recording... you might call it modern minimalist recording. We utilize cutting-edge technology, but our actual manner of operation would probably be more of the historical (traditional) approach to recording acoustic music.

Microphone Placement:
ORTF, XY, A - B Spaced Pair, Spot Miking
How many mic's do we use?... as few as possible, but as many as necessary.
Every recording project is unique... the artist, the acoustics, the program material... our method of recording will be determined by these variables.
